Hi everyone! My name is Teria with Peace & Make, and in today’s video, I’m sharing some fall fashion inspiration. I went to the mall and found a few things that I think are really cool for the season. This is just a quick video where I’ll show you the pieces I liked, along with some ideas for outfits I’d love to wear—though I’m not sure how many of these I’ll actually get to make. My ideas tend to outpace the time I have, so we’ll see what actually gets made. Hopefully, these pieces will inspire me to add something new to the projects I’m already working on. I hope you enjoy!
Okay, super random, but check out this stitching! Oh my goodness, I’m really thinking about trying this myself. Do you think it would look as nice if I did it?
Next, I love this style. I’m not into cheetah print, but I’d definitely make this in a solid color. I can totally see it over a denim jacket or shirt. You ever see something so “ugly” that it’s cute? That’s how I feel about this! The color is great, and I love the wide wale of the corduroy. The little side pockets are adorable too. I’m trying to figure out how I can recreate this look, especially with those two seams in the back.
Now, I thought these pants were really cool because there’s no waistband at the top—just seams. It’s such a unique design!
This dress really caught my eye because it’s made of fleece, and I’ve been working with fleece blankets lately. They have a similar fabric at Joann Fabrics. It feels like wearing a blanket, which I think is amazing. I’d love to make something like this—it’s perfect for layering, especially in a fabric like rayon or viscose for that nice drape. I’m also loving the gold stitching details around the skirt.
I’m a huge fan of mustard yellow—my pants are even mustard yellow! This dress is like a vest and a dress combined, with a single row of buttons down the front. The back has some great seams, and it darts in from the waist down. Just a really nice design overall.
This super simple shirt is so cute, and I actually have fabric in my stash that would work perfectly for this. It would be really easy to make, and it reminds me of how we used to dress in middle school with vests over shirts. I won’t be making this particular one, but I still really like it!
Now, this dress isn’t something I’m planning to make, but I tried it on, and I loved the fabric. That’s one thing about making your own clothes—sometimes the fabric options are limiting, and it can be tough to get the exact look you want. But I do love this fabric! Also, I can’t get over this cloth belt. It caught my eye, and I really want to try and recreate it at home. I think I have two loops like that already, so stay tuned!
Here’s the same dress in black. I just wanted to show you how it looks on a body. Apparently, flat bags are okay with this one. It’s such a simple design, but I could totally make it. In fact, it’s so simple that I actually want to try it! The price tag on this one is around $100, so making it myself is definitely appealing.
And that’s the end of the video! Let me know if you want to see more of these types of videos. I don’t go to the mall often, but when I do, I’m getting more comfortable filming what I see. It also depends on the store. I prefer going to places where staff aren’t following me around, as I’m not always sure if it’s okay to film. But I do like to find spots where I can just walk around, take out my camera, and talk about what I’m seeing.
