Hi everyone! My name is Teria with Peace and Make, and today I have a fabric haul video for you. I know a lot of people love these types of videos, and since I keep buying fabric even though I haven’t sewn up all the fabric I already have, I thought I’d share my recent finds with you.

So, I went to two stores: Joann Fabrics and a shop called Sea Stitches. I’ll walk you through what I got from both places.

Let’s start with Joann Fabrics. First, I got this plaid fabric. I’m really excited about this because I made a fall inspiration video recently, and in that video, I showed a dress with a similar plaid pattern. When I was at Joann’s looking for other fabrics, I passed by this and noticed it was on clearance. Of course, I had to grab it!

I want to make the same dress I featured in that fall video. If you want to see the dress I’m referring to, you can check out the fall inspiration video (I’ll link it in the cards above). I’ll also be doing another video soon where I’ll share some random project ideas, and I’ll show the dress there too. But for now, if you’re curious, check out that video.

I think I got around five yards of this fabric. It wasn’t continuous, but I’ll make it work. I may have to do some pattern matching, so we’ll see how it goes.

Next, I’ve been making a lot of baby blankets this year, and I’m not stopping anytime soon! My next project is for a friend who’s having a little girl. For the blanket, I got this cotton fleece for the top, and this polyester fleece for the bottom. Polyester fleece is perfect for kids because it’s easy to wash. They get their fabrics dirty a lot, so it’s great that this material can handle a lot of washes.

For the border, I picked out this fabric with little squiggles. I love how vibrant the royal blue pops against the other fabrics. This combination will make such a fun and cozy blanket!

When I went to Joann’s, I wasn’t even supposed to buy fabric! I was just there to get gray thread. But you know how it goes—I saw something I liked and ended up with a bunch of fabric. This is why I need to be careful when I visit Joann’s. If I see something I like and I already have a project in mind, I can’t resist.

Now, let’s talk about the next place I went: Sea Stitches. I discovered this shop when I go out of town to the beach, and it’s a hidden gem. I wasn’t able to visit the last time I went to the beach, but I was able to this time.

Here’s a fun backstory: I have a friend who works at Joann Fabrics. She made this beautiful paisley embroidery, and when she showed it to me, I had this immediate, visceral reaction like, “Wow, this is gorgeous!” The embroidery is so sharp, and I love the colors and the pattern.

She makes these as samples for embroidery machine classes, and she was going to make a tote bag out of it. She offered it to me as a gift, and of course, I said yes!

So, when I went to Sea Stitches, I picked up some fabric to make a tote bag. I want to use muslin fabric to border the front side of the tote bag. I’m thinking about making the handles out of faux suede or a thicker muslin canvas fabric to match.

For the back of the tote, I bought a few fat quarters in these beautiful patterns. I plan to line them up on the back side of the tote bag, creating a fun patchwork effect. I’ll probably add some padding or stabilizer to thicken the cotton fabrics and give the tote a little structure.

I love how these colors work together—they’re all in the same color family, so they’ll look really nice on the finished bag.

Next up, I bought some more cotton fabric. I recently made a white shirt (I’ll share a video of that soon). Before that, I made another shirt using fabric from Hobby Lobby. I’ll show you a picture of it. I really love this pattern, so I’m planning to make a second shirt from it.

At Sea Stitches, I also picked up this fabric with a coral reef design. I was in a beachy mood, and I love this deep orange color. I have two yards of it, and I’m thinking of making a long-sleeve version of the shirt if I have enough fabric. If I don’t have quite enough, I may still make a second shirt and just call the shop to ask if I can buy more. They don’t have an online shop, so I’ll have to call and send a picture to make sure they have it in stock.

So those are the fabrics I picked up. I always prioritize baby blankets because I want to get those done and sent out as soon as possible. But I did get a little burned out from making so many baby blankets this summer. I made four, and the last one I completed was in September. After that, I took a break from baby blankets for all of October.

Now, in November (or whenever I post this), I’m planning to get back into sewing these projects. My goal is to finish them by the end of the year or at least by the beginning of the year. I’m also juggling other projects, so I’ll work on these in between.

I hope you enjoyed this fabric haul! It’s been a while since I’ve posted one of these videos. I actually haven’t bought fabric that often this year, which I’m really proud of. Between 2021 and 2023, I accumulated a lot of fabric, and I’ve been able to pull from my stash for most of my projects.

As you can tell, I don’t just make garments—I love doing DIY projects, and I have a ton of ideas in my head. I hope you’ll join me on this creative journey!

If you liked this video, please give it a thumbs up. Also, let me know which fabric was your favorite, or if you had any big reactions to any of the fabrics I showed. I love watching fabric haul videos because they inspire me, and I’m always looking for new ideas!
