About

Hello and welcome! My name is Teria. I’m someone who thrives at the intersection of creativity and logic. While my background may be rooted in the hard sciences, my true passion lies in the world of art, design, and craftsmanship. I’ve always felt a deep connection to the tactile process of creating, whether it’s through the fabric of a garment, the texture of a painting, or the intricate stitches of embroidery.

My love for textiles and design began at a young age, and over the years, I’ve honed a variety of skills that allow me to express my creativity in multiple ways. Hand embroidery is where it all started for me. Currently sewing is my primary medium. There is something so fulfilling about transforming a simple piece of fabric into something wearable and beautiful. Over time, I’ve expanded my craft to include knitting, playing instruments (I am rusty now lol), and even painting. Each medium offers a new way for me to explore my artistic vision and express myself.

Garments have always been a special area of interest, not just as functional pieces of clothing, but as a form of personal expression and a canvas for my creativity. I love experimenting with colors, textures, and patterns, and I often find inspiration in unexpected places—whether it’s a vintage textile, a natural landscape, or a fleeting moment of light.

At the same time, my scientific training has given me a unique perspective on my artistic work. The problem-solving skills I developed through studying the hard sciences influence the way I approach design—whether it’s in how I construct a garment, balance colors in a painting, or meticulously plan out my next random DIY project. I think of each project as a mix of precision and innovation, where logic and creativity go hand in hand.

I consider myself an artist above all else. Whether I’m quilting a blanket, designing a new dress, or creating a piece of home decor, I’m always seeking ways to blend beauty, functionality, and personal expression. I believe that art isn’t just something you do—it’s a way of living and seeing the world. My goal is to inspire others to embrace their own creativity and find joy in the process of making, just as I do.

Thank you for visiting my space! I hope you find something here that sparks your own creativity.

Why Peace and Make?

“Make”

I was inspired to share my art both in person and online, and right now, sewing is my primary medium. However, I embrace many other forms of creativity—knitting, embroidery, and even music. For me, the word “Make” captures creativity as a whole, as I am a maker of many things. Whether you focus on one art form or explore a variety, this place is here to inspire you and encourage you to learn something new.

“Peace”

This one is especially close to my heart. During the pandemic sewing garments became my outlet. As I created, God’s peace is what helped me through difficult times.

Philippians 4: 6-7

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
